During a rich and varied 'career' I was a teacher, hospital porter, technical author, silversmith and software developer.
Silverware
I made silver for many churches, a couple of cathedrals and clergy as far away as Canada and Russia. I also made a lot of domestic silver, everything from whisky cups to coffee pots and candelabras.

Salivary Gland Cancer UK
In 2014 I was diagnosed with a rare cancer, with a tumour in my windpipe. It was an ACC (Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma) tumour, a type of salivary gland cancer.
After successful surgery by the incredible NHS team at Nottingham City Hospital and radiotherapy at Royal Derby Hospital I carried on with my life and I am now well. A few years later I found a new charity which supports patients with SGC and funds research into this rare group of cancers. I am now a trustee of that charity.
